a great place to visit as one of the neighbours did recently with his powerful chinese friend… see photos in the bar! chequers is within a large stones throw from it! stayed june 2016, travelled with friends michael w, leighto buzzard “welcome haven” fantastic customer service, the staff are so approachable and they are really helpful, really friendly. the food was amazing i couldnt fault it, a lot of choice. the interior was gorgeous too, very ‘oldy worldy’ but also in keeping with the modern times. overall i couldn’t recommend this enough, whether a stop off when walking the ridgeway, or just to visit it was great! will see you again. george x stayed july 2017, travelled with friends united kingdom “10 out of 10” gosh what a delicious sunday roast we had here last sunday. we were taken by some friends who are regulars and though it’s a bit of a distance from where we live, we were of the opinion that it is well worth the journey!! we ordered three lamb and one chicken and all were extremely generous, tasty and veg were cooked perfectly. plenty of room inside or outside and i was intrigued to see signs to the ridgeway right outside so that makes it an interesting option for hungry walkers. we will definitely revisit!! stayed july 2016, travelled as a couple ll, hertfordshire “perfect sunday roast” four of us had lunch here and i have to say the food was really good and the staff all really lovely and polite. this is prime minister david cameron’s local, although on this occasion, he wasn’t sitting in the corner! three of us had the shoulder of lamb and i have to say it was really lovely and for me way more than i could eat, it was accompanied by roast potatoes plus a massive choice of fresh veg (hence why i was stuffed), the fourth had gammon, fresh egg and chips, which he raved about and said it was the best ham he had ever tasted. two of them had desserts, which again they loved. all in all a lovely lunch in a beautiful location. definitely would go back again. stayed may 2016, travelled with family gill g, uk “saturday night date night” six members of our family enjoyed another wonderful meal at the plough. i would not miss coming here when i visit family. as usual the service and food were outstanding. i had welsh lamb and it was very well cooked and tasty. thank you steve and staff for carrying on high standards in a special british pub. stayed july 2015, travelled with family brandon, florida “another lovely evening meal” any questions? please send us a message drop us a line anytime, and one of our staff will respond to you as soon as possible email facebook twitter google rss website by © greensitedesign 2018
